Absolutely charming, traditional family house with private pool, sleeping up to eight people and set in 7 acres of olive, almond, eucalyptus and fruit trees. Casa Gaucin is extremely private yet only 2 kms from Gaucin, one of the famous 'white villages' of this mountain region. Magnificent views south towards the Mediterranean and North Africa.
This property has been tastfully finished with the added benefit of having all the comforts of home. The location and views are wonderful with the added benefit of the peace and quiet of the countryside yet within easy distance of the local town. This property really is a gem and early booking is recommended. |
Accommodation Details On entering the property there is an open hallway, to the left of this is the very large, spacious and well equipped kitchen/dining/day room with 2 ovens, gas hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, log fire and a dinning table with seating for 10 people. From this room there are french windows leading onto the main terrace. This room leads to the Utility room with washing machine and beyond the utility room is a twin bedroom with an ensuite shower room. This bedroom also has french windows leading onto the terraces.
On the right from the hallway, up three steps there is a downstairs WC with shower, a beautifully decorated sitting room which has plenty of seating and an open log fire. There is satellite TV with English Channels, DVD and CD players. There are two sets of French windows from the sitting room, both leading to a covered terrace where there is an outside dinning table for 10 people and occasional seating. This in turn leads onto a mature garden and lawn.
On the first floor, there is the master bedroom with a wonderful bathroom, featuring a huge bath and shower with marble worktops. There are French doors onto the balcony with wonderful views. There is also a private 12ft x 8ft terrace which has its own steps which lead down to the swimming pool.
The second floor leads to another large double bedroom and bathroom which incorporates a shower. There are 3 windows in this room, making it light and spacious with great views.
The two bedrooms on the first and second floors are air conditioned however, these are run on a timer and if needed for longer, this is payable locally.
The Casita is fully self-contained with TV, CD play and radio. There is a double bedroom with shower room, large open plan kitchen/ dining/ sitting room leading onto a private terrace and lawn. The cottage can only be rented, and used by guests of the main house, otherwise this will be closed.
Outside Facilities Through the property gates and along a track, there is a private parking area for your cars. The main house is located on your left and the Casita is located to your right.To the right of the front door of the main house there is a small fishpond.
The main terrace is accessed from the kitchen french windows, there are low level tables and seating and has fabulous views to the pool and beyond. From this area there are steps down to the pool area and, the owner has placed low level fencing around the perimeter of this terrace with a gate at the top stop little ones running down to the pool area unsupervised. The steps leading down to the pool can be lit at night. To the left of the pool there is a covered shaded area with seating. At the far end is an area for sunbathing and the far right is a static bench seating and table. Please note that beyond the pool area there are steep drops so small children should not be left alone.
The owner has supplied is plenty of garden furniture and sunloungers. The pool is 9 x 6 metres and has a depth of 1.4 mts -1.8 mts.
There is also a Croquet Lawn and hoops are available on request along with badminton equipment. This is an enclosed area of lawn which is excellent for children.
The gardens are mature and the caretaker normally arrives early to water the plants and to tend the pool.

Services Broadband connection at the house.
The property is cleaned for your arrival and if staying for more than 1 week, cleaning will be the following weekend. The pool and garden are tended twice a week or when necessary.
Linen and all towels are provided.
Welcome pack, change of linen, extra maid service, babysitting and cooking all available on request and payable locally. No pets allowed.
For all Winter lettings, gas and logs are payable locally.
Local Area The area is ideal for walking, bird watching, riding or generally relaxing. A good base for exploring. Many golf courses are within 40 mins drive, including Valderrama. Ronda is approximately 40 mins drive and windsurfing at Tarifa about 1 hr.
Car hire is essential to reach the house, although there is a sporadic taxi service in the village.
The house is 2km from Gaucin where you will find many restaurants and tapas bars. There are 2 supermarkets which stock pretty much all you need, and also a butcher, baker and covered market with local produce, a health food shop and two banks with ATM machines. Most shops are closed on Sundays however, the petrol station does sell an array of food!
Activities available locally are walking, trekking, tennis and riding. Painting classes, yoga, thai-chi are also available. Sports activities for children, such as tennis lessons, specific walks, football and
riding can be arranged.
Directions There are many direct flights to Malaga from the UK. It is about a one and a half hours drive to Gaucin. Alternatively, you can fly into into Gibraltar, which is approximately 40 minutes drive. Clients are given directions on where to collect the keys, as well as a contact phone number. Car hire is essential. |

Gas and Fire Wood are payable locally for lets during the Winter. The air conditioning in the two bedrooms are run on a timer however, this can be extended and paid for locally.
