The two suites are luxurious yet functional, and have been thoughtfully appointed taking into consideration that maxim ‘unwind'. The suites come with open air bathrooms which have with their own Jacuzzi's that guarantee guests an invigorating revival.
This property offers two suites named the Sun and The Moon and a deluxe room called the Stars. Each have their own characteristic charm with high wooden ceiling, four-poster netted beds, and personal hi-fi.
RECEPTION ROOMS
The reception room, living room and dining room are ope-plan. In the living area there is a lovely sofa with two arm chairs and a coffee table, TV and DVD library. The dining table is close to the deluxe room, and can seat eight people.
BEDROOMS
The bedrooms are really mini suites that will take your breath away. Two large bedrooms called Sun and Moon and one smaller bedroom called the Star. The large antique four-poster bed takes pride of place and once you lie in it, you will probably not want to leave it.
Bedroom 1 & 2 - Sun & Moon Double rooms.
Both rooms are similar to each other but the difference is that the Sun Suite is filled with sunlight in the morning. Double beds with mosquito net, sofa and coffee table, open air bath room with Jacuzzi, hot and cold water, shower, washbasin, CD player.
Bed room 3 – Star.
Double bed with mosquito net, indoor bathroom with hot and cold water, shower, and CD player in the room.
THE KITCHEN
The kitchen is located outside the house. Wathurugama House is fully staffed and catered and has a versatile chef. The menu is a combination of eastern and western specialties of your choice, and through the doors of the dining room you will see a back garden and a setting that is perfect for alfresco breakfast or dinner. It can be as intimate and romantic, or as festive, as you please.
The food will be totally catered to your taste, with some prior notice, and at any time specified by you. Traditional Walawwa food of Sri Lankan rice and curry, continental, or eastern. You will find the chef extremely versatile and will cater to all needs.
Breakfast is a choice of Sri Lankan (a three course meal in itself, and to be enjoyed at least once), Continental, American and English. If you are staying just a few days, the management may ask about your favourites in advance. The menu is very extensive, and food supplies are fresh.
TERRACE AND POOL
Wathurugama House has a small private pool which is well maintained. You will find how wonderful if you have swim in this pool to relax. On the terrace you can have your Dinner, which will be nice in the evening time, as the staff will be decorating the whole Wathurugama bungalow garden, terrace, and pool area with oil lamps.
GARDENS
The garden is about five acres of land, around Wathurugama bungalow you will find a pineapple farm, coconut farm, and some other local fruits around the bungalow, the staff would serve any local fruit for your if you request. They also cook organic vegetables from the garden. An easy amble will take you into a natural habitat, full of fresh fruit, rich in agriculture, and thriving with animal life. Butterflies of every hue dance to a wide variety of trilling birds.
