SA MUNTANYA  
 
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FOR LARGE GROUPS, CELEBRATIONS, WEDDINGS AND SPECIAL EVENTS A traditional Mallorquin finca with a beautifully restored large stone built private house and outbuildings forming an ideal holiday property for large groups. Set in wonderful grounds of about 250 acres with a stunning backdrop of the Tramuntana mountains, the whole will accommodate up to twenty four people, but the main house can also be rented on its own for up to sixteen people at a lower rate. Peaceful and tranquil setting, with a lovely swimming pool.

Sa Muntanya is a beautifully restored old estate house and outbuildings built of stone and run as a small and exclusive country house hotel, but the entire property is also available for rental, on request, as a holiday villa.

The property is situated in the Western part of Mallorca, between the small towns of Bunyola and Orient, and on the edge of the wonderful range of mountains that run along the north-west coast of the island, the Sierra de Tramontana.

Sa Muntanya has wonderful views of these mountains and the beautiful countryside surrounding the estate. The valley of Orient is very lovely and in spite of being so peaceful and tranquil is only twenty five minutes drive from the centre of Palma and the International airport.

The nearest beach is about fifteen minutes drive, and the Port of Sóller is also only a few kilometres away.

The original construction is some 700 years old with stone walls almost a metre thick. The owners have managed to keep many of the traditional features of the original building - arched and vaulted ceilings, the oil press, rooms for storage of the oil and other features of the house.

Whilst keeping faithfully to the original architecture, all necessary modern services have been added to ensure the comfort of guests. There is a large swimming pool.


Accommodation Details
The main house is 500 sq metres and accommodates up to 14 people in 7 twin bedrooms plus a further 4 children in extra beds. On the ground floor is to be found all the communal rooms. There are two dining rooms, one very large with an impressive vaulted ceiling and the other off the main hall, leading to the kitchen with a beautiful table that will seat up to 22 people. There is the original traditional Mallorquin open fireplace with seating and also in the spacious main hall there is a further very large open fireplace. Off the main hall is the original olive pressing room with the old olive press and all its working parts intact. The kitchen has two dishwashers, two fridges and is fully equipped. In the dining room you’ll find all plates, glasses and cutlery for about forty people.

At the beginning of the stairs there is a small landing area that leads off to a suite with twin beds and en suite bathroom with a small lounge area that can accommodate up to four extra beds if required.

On the first floor there are six delightful twin rooms each with en suite bathroom. Here is also a spacious common room with Sat TV (Hispasat), DVD and CD Player, and which leads to the exterior of the house, gardens and the swimming pool. All the rooms have windows or balconies with lovely views to the mountains and open countryside.

Breakfast is included in the price, and other meals are available upon request and for an additional cost.

All the rooms have been furnished with antique Mallorquin furniture and the whole property has a great deal of character and charm.

The owner/manager does live on site and can be on hand to organise any activities or meals that may be required.

There is a separate unit at the back of the property that has recently been restored offering three additional twin bedrooms, each sleeping two people all with en suite bathrooms, living-dining area, and an integrated kitchen. Therefore, the entire property offers eleven bedrooms and eleven bathrooms. With extra beds it can however accommodate up to 24 people.

There is WIFI/broadband internet connection available in this property.

Outside Facilities
This property is set in extensive grounds of about 250 acres and at the back of the property across the lawn is the large pool - 12 x 7 metres. There is a large terrace area at the front of the main finca which offers a wonderful relaxing place to sit and relax under the tree shade.


Services
Daily maid service, linen & all towels provided.

Meals available on request at extra cost, 30 euros per head per adult or 15 euros per head per child for a 3 course dinner - wine not included. Alternatively, a cook can be supplied and the cook will take care of the shopping, preparation of breakfast and one other meal daily. Fee for the cook will be quoted as it is dependant on the number of guests. The cost of the food is extra. The cost of the cook is to be settled locally with the owner of the property and usually the food and drink bills directly with the cook.

There is central heating throughout the property and huge open fireplaces in the common areas, making this an excellent property for Winter Holidays. Extra beds may be added, at an extra charge.

Local Area
One of the most beautiful regions of the island of Mallorca - mountainous and spectacular. The delightful and picturesque villages of Bunyola and Orient are each within five kilometres of this Finca.

This a great place to base yourself for exploring the island with the towns of Deia and Soller and the fantastic coastline of the Western part of the island within easy driving distance. Pollenca & Alcudia are also not far away and Palma and the International airport about twenty five minutes by car.

Activities nearby include: Hiking - fantastic for walkers and nature lovers as surrounding countryside is excellent for hiking.

Mountain Biking & Bicycles: available for hire.

Water sports: possibility of hiring equipment, please ask for details

Golf: nearest golf course is fifteen minutes drive or ten kilometres. The owners have special arrangements with nearby golf courses and they are delighted for guests to take advantage of this.

Directions
Flight to Palma, Mallorca and then by taxi or car to the Finca. From the Palma highway, take the exit for Sóller (C-711) and continue to Buñyola. From Buñola, take the road Bunola-Orient until the kilometre stone 4.6 appears, and the entrance to the Finca can be seen indicated on the left hand side.

Car hire is essential and can be arranged - details on request.

Up to four extra beds are available for children up to 12 years old, included in the price. Extra beds for 12 years and over charged at an additional cost of 250 €uros per week each, up to a total of 24 people.
Meals:
Other meals can be arranged at additional costs as follows:
3 course meals: 30 €uros per head per adult, and 15 €uro per head per child. The cook is also happy to grocery shop for clients at a rate of 10 €uros per hour.
Alternatively, a cook can be supplied at an extra cost, to be quoted, and this will include shopping and the preparation of breakfast and one other meal daily. The cost of the food & drink is extra. Charge for cook to be settled locally with the owner and normally food & drink purchased to be settled directly with the cook.

If main house only is booked, then the second property will not be let or used.

Please note that cleaners cannot be supplied on the 23rd, 24th, 25th December or 1st or 2nd January

The check in time for the property is normally 16.00hrs
and the check out time is normally 10.00hrs.

The prices quoted here may vary and will be confirmed at the time of booking.
